According to Toyota dealer documents that have been floating around online the past couple of days the bZ is expected to go on sale in April. Since the New York Auto Show is from April 15-24 as well it could be the same time as the show.
Welcome to the forum @Cinderama! That doesn't seem right that they're not bring any bZ4Xs to the entire state of Pennsylvania. Have you reached out to other dealers around you to see if they say the same thing? If that ends up being confirmed you might have to look in to buying a bZ4X out of state.I have been patiently waiting for the BZ4X. Called my local dealer and was told they are not delivering ANY BZ4X to the state of PA where I live.... I am heartbroken.... I am willing to pre-order just do not know where or how to do so. any help would be greatly appreciated... all I keep hearing is mid-2022 open for sale.
Interesting especially an interview with a Toyota spokesman at one of the auto shows was specifically mentioned that initially, the majority would go to ZEV states and that all 50 states would get some sort of allotment by the end of 2022. Supply chain issues may change that though (or I suppose it may not have been true to begin with).I have been patiently waiting for the BZ4X. Several dealerships in my state, UTAH, have confirmed they are NOT being allocated any, at least in 2022. I have had to order elsewhere to actually confirm getting one.Interesting especially an interview with a Toyota spokesman at one of the auto shows was specifically mentioned that initially, the majority would go to ZEV states and that all 50 states would get some sort of allotment by the end of 2022. Yeah, probably the spokesman giving lip service. The 2 KY dealers that I sent an inquiry to didn't even reply back lol.Several dealerships in my state, UTAH, have confirmed they are NOT being allocated any, at least in 2022. I have had to order elsewhere to actually confirm getting one.
From my experience, most dealers can collect and send your state tax to your state. The dealer I am working with uses a company that will collect and send the sales taxes to any state required. Some just send the paperwork and you'll pay the tax once you get home. I have also seen states collect their own sales tax and your state would just give a credit instead of having you pay sales tax twice. I have not seen an instance of having to pay sales tax twice.I have checked with the dealers locally.... and they seem a tad irritated! LOL My concern was if I get it out of state, would have I have to pay sales tax twice? One out of state and then my PA Tax.... I am hoping OH, NY, MD, WV at least a few places who will be getting them in. fingers crossed... hoping the dealerships don;'t inflate the price either. Thanks all for the comments... much appreciated.

I agree with all of this. My experience is that the dealership just sends you home and you register your car in your home state and pay the sales tax of your state at that time. From my experience, most dealers can collect and send your state tax to your state. Let me know how that goes! My stepson was on an army base in Hawaii.. had a sports car... they were going to ship to him.... by the time he picked it up in the state of MD there were hard miles on the vehicle and it did not run right thereafter... now this was his personal car that he had in Hawaii... totally different situation.... just wondered how many army people drove it! LOLI agree with all of this. My experience is that the dealership just sends you home and you register your car in your home state and pay the sales tax of your state at that time.
Although, I have a new experience in process. My order is in at a dealership in Hawaii, and I found it a bit more difficult dealing with the way Hawaii works. There isn't a Sales tax there, the use a GET tax that businesses are required to pay and they can charge the customer up to 4.712% of it. The easiest way i found to get the car exported was to get an address in Hawaii, pay the tax and the registration and just deal with it while I export the car to the Mainland. Then when I get it home, I'll simply drive on the Hawaii plates for awhile and then simply transfer the registration (Sure, I'll pay car registration twice, but NOT sales tax). Anyway, that's a twist on the whole matter. ha!![]()

Since MD is a ZEV state and, based on my search and inventory checks for the RAV4 Prime over the last year, I imagine MD will get tgeir fair share or more. Now finding a MD dealer that doesn’t mark up well over MSRP or a dealer that isn’t an @sshole (part owner of Jerry’s Toyota) is another story. Not to mention that many have implement a no sale out of state policy.Let me know how that goes! Thank you....
I can't find a list of ANY dealers in PA that are getting the BZ4X.... I heard NY is getting them. Does anyone know if OH, WV, MD, Delaware getting any Bz4X?

Thanks so much.... do you think we should look at WV or OH?Since MD is a ZEV state and, based on my search and inventory checks for the RAV4 Prime over the last year, I imagine MD will get tgeir fair share or more. If the RAV4 Prime is used as a precursor to the BZ4X, I wouldn’t waste much time in OH and zero time in WV. MD and NY are by far the best bets from my past experience. Thanks so much.... do you think we should look at WV or OH?
I'm a Hawaii resident. Toyotas are king here. All our Toyota dealers (except 1 on the outer Island) are controlled by one company, Servco. Servco imports all Toyotas from Japan and are not under the Toyota USA network. Prior to the pandemic, our dealer markup were much higher than North America. Now they all sell at MSRP.I agree with all of this. My experience is that the dealership just sends you home and you register your car in your home state and pay the sales tax of your state at that time.

I bought a 2001 double cab Tacoma from Seattle 17 years ago. This was the first year of the double cab. I paid $750 over invoice price. I test drove it and the dealer drove it to the docks for me for shipping to Hawaii. It was approx $1600? to ship it from there at the time. Seattle had an 8% sales tax at the time. I did not pay the tax because you suppose to pay the taxes on the sales price whatever State you first register your car. After I picked up my Tacoma and registered it, I never got a bill to pay for the taxes. Since that time Hawaii has cracked down on these taxes and strict rules are in effect. I believe you now pay the taxes when you register the car. Even if I was to buy a new car in Oregon and register it there (no sales tax), If the car gets shipped to Hawaii within a year, I am obligated to pay the Hawaii General Excise Tax. Please check your local government tax rules. Active military has exceptions. After buying my Tacoma, I ended up paying (including the shipping) the same price as if I bought it in Hawaii without the GE tax. I still drive the Tacoma.
