Toyota USA will let you pre-order or reserve the bZ4X soon, months ahead of when the electric SUV arrives in local dealers around mid-2022. A $500 refundable reservation deposit will be required. Your Toyota dealer will contact you to confirm your order after going through the initial phase. The Toyota dealer assigned to you will be based on your Zip Code or the Zip Code of the dealership you are purchasing from.

I currently see THREE on the Ground... (one of them in Culver City, which i heard was marking it up $15k, and that's probably why its still sitting there!)... There are 168 sitting in Freight Status at the moment, which means these are the ones sitting at PORT, that were supposed to be on a Train or Truck to dealerships, but got held up.
... Sooo, depending on how many they can push through the "Quality" check per day, I'm hoping they release them as they get them done! (there are also at least Four Ports that I'm aware of that slit the total, so that helps speed things up). (LA, Oakland, Portland, New York).
(PS: this doesn't count for ALL the ones sitting at port in Hawaii, or the South-Eastern US area... for some reason they use a different distributer than Toyota USA).
Have you confirmed from Hawaii dealerships that the same 90 day hold applies? I would think they only have to QC cars for Hawaii and there would be a lot less volume compared to the other ports.I currently see THREE on the Ground... Yes, just allocated yesterday. Doesn’t appear in daily spreadsheet yet. Do you have a way of seeing status directly?

Yes, I have a sales guy there that took it up the chain as well and confirmed the same Hold. I would say yes, they should push through faster since they probably only have a dozen at most right now. (don't know their actual inventory). So, I'm betting they won't have a 90-day hold.

Did you get your car yet? I also put a deposit down at servco. Was told it would be ready in July but now seeing reports of longer delays in this thread.

Thanks for confirming! As for the wait, if they have other models on QC hold that could affect how quickly they get through I guess. I found QC holds on other Toyota models dating back to January on Reddit so not just a BZ4X issue…

Then press F12 to open the Editor
At the top of that window (at the right) you'll see several tabs, click on NETWORK.
Then refresh your page. This will then load a bunch of info.
Scroll down a little bit until you find your VIN number (it will look like this... JTMABACA6PA007306?isVspec=true ).
Click on it and it will open another window pane. This will have all the details about the current status of your car.
Look for "dealerCategory:" Right now it shows an "A" status
look down a little more and you'll see "holdStatus:" right now it shows "DealerHold"
Under that you'll see "isPreSold" right now it says "False" (although, i have seen this not really change, even though you may have put down a deposit).

Unless something is different about production of BZ4X process, the unit should be built. This is based on temporary VIN vs permanent VIN numbers from Toyota. Temp VIN numbers are assigned before production and contain a letter in the last 6 digits. Once production is complete, the final VIN is generated and contains only numbers in the last 6 digits. The VIN on my BZ allocation is the final VIN. Plugging it into the Toyota users logged in page shows an order date of 05/22.
Edit: I just noticed on the raw data from the spec sheet,(Thanks Motch6) the TempVIN: False setting is active. Should be built at the least and on a ship heading to port at the most (hope so)!

After waiting for a few days for my allocated AWD Limited model, VIN JTMABACA6PA007306, to appear in the spreadsheet. I posted in the Reddit thread but missed the fact that n6nl had already noticed that my VIN was a new series for AWD models. Per n6nl, the 7th position being a C is new. Previously A was FWD with B being AWD. Now I’m curious as to what the C designation means. n6nl has a post on the Solterra forums breaking down the current VIN batches. Here is a quote from there. I heard directly from the person maintaining the spreadsheet. He’s working on a different vehicle series at the moment, but some of the code he wrote to collect the data will be useful for handling this particular change and he thinks he’ll have the code ready by the end of the week or so.
I sampled and found a couple more AWD in that same VIN range, they were all “C” in position 7.

I was tinkering with the VIN decoder on the NHTSA site last night but never got full results (like these sheets). Awesome. Would be nice to know what the C means on the 6/1 change, lol!

That seams odd, since Longo has sold a couple of these already and I would think, if they actually allowed you on a list back then, you would have been one of the first contacted. Wonder if that list was lost?
I spoke with Longo a couple times from March and April of this year... just before they stopped adding people to their list! I would call them. Good Luck, especially since they are one of the best to work with.

I got on the list in April and they never told me anything about my place in line even though others in different forums knew theirs. I even contacted them once people starting taking delivery to see if there were any updates. It took two months multiple calls, texts, emails, and finally a call to the manager to finally get info on my place in line. We knew we were going to be towards the back of the line but we still wanted to know the numbers so we could adjust our tax credit expectations I don’t know why it was so hard to get that info.

Seems Toyota is either doing maintenance or has blocked the VSPEC pages from being pulled up (there is a 403 Forbidden on the API pulling in the page - results in page you are looking for is not found when trying to pull up the spec page to look at status).

FYI
I got hold of Harley. It seems that she responds better to direct calling rather than email. She assured me that my place hasn't been lost. I mentioned that I hadn't even been asked about preferred drive, trim level, and colors. She seemed a little surprised at that, and asked me to send those to her. I sent that to her and asked her to let me know where I stand on the list.
She mentioned that they've only sold two so far. One was to an employee, the other to a long-time customer.
