I've already adjusted mine, so I can't give you the default height without changing it again, but the factory setting will definitely be too high if you have a low ceiling. I'd measure your garage clearance first, then try setting the height outside. You'll be able to keep the maximum opening height low enough after you adjust it.
You can adjust the setting from the display above the steering wheel, or by using the key fob. I used the key fob to stop the gate where I want it to stop while it was opening - Then you hold the button on the door for a few seconds to set that position.
