That sounds annoying. I'm wondering, were you able to add a 2nd profile that isn't a guest? Anyways, if you want a wireless solution that works as good as the plug in, I would suggest one of those wireless android auto dongles. Would cost some money, and that front pocket would no longer be usable, but should solve your issues until Toyota gets their stuff updated.

Thank you. I'll look into that dongle. Hopefully a slim profile exists. Looks pretty chunky at the moment.

No, I was not able create a a second profile (for my wife). I gave up. Prolonged use of profanity and additional grey hair was the only thing that happened after numerous failed attempts. I intend to have this conversation with smarter people when I have my vehicle serviced. Hopefully they can help me.

Hi everyone,

Discovered a few more things about Android auto wireless. For it to connect, you have to stay in Park a bit longer after starting the vehicle. As soon as you go into Drive it gives up on connecting. Also it helps to link your profile to the key which can be done in the touch screen settings.
