I use android auto for nav 99% of the time. I will test on my way home though.
Kat, What the the nature of your test? I tried it again last nite and for a voice request got "Network Busy." In typing in a specific address got "Sorry, no results were found." It is funny, the address I typed in was for the Toyota Dealer... 'Still not working on my end.I forgot while driving, but it seems like Toyota's nav worked fine when I just tested from home.
Kat, That is great. It gives me the idea that there is something with my equipment (rather than the system). I have reported this to Toyota Brand Management. Let's see what they come up with...I typed in a residential address several states away, and it found it and gave me several appropriate route options.
In the meantime, you could download Waze app on your phone and then it will be in your Apple Car Play on the car display. Just a thought...Kat, That is great. AMettie, As mentioned CarPlay, and the apps in CarPlay work fine. JUst trying to see if others are having issues with their Navigation System. Thanks,In the meantime, you could download Waze app on your phone and then it will be in your Apple Car Play on the car display. Just a thought...
Latest on this (12 May): Brand Engagement is saying the satellites are now back up and working. I am still having the same issue. Brand Engagement is referring me back to the Dealer to work with the National technical people...Brand new bz4X XLE AWD and can not get the Navigation system to work from the car. CarPlay works fine. I have the Drive Connect subscription.
I have called Brand Engagement, they confirmed that I am doing it properly and referred me to the Dealer. The Dealer took the car for the day and returned it with this comment:
"Concern was verified. Search option was not working normally when an [sic] specific address or place was typed. Random places are populated instead. No navigation updates were availble [sic] when inspected. Created a TAS case # 23220432 and contacted Tech Assist. was told that this is known issue and going right now and that it has to do with the third party company provides satellite comunication [sic] to the Toyota Navigation Systems. It is called Destination Assistance and is currently down. No ETA what the system will be operating normally and that it is at this point out of Toyota hands. If the problem persist, this case will remained open."
I would surmise for the above that no one's Navigation System is working... which doesn't make sense to me. Anyone else having this issue?
