I will definitely want to follow that.

Is your bZ4X a FWD or an AWD?
Very good. Your vehicle should have the Panasonic battery pack, so your numbers will not be directly applicable to the North American AWD bZ4X and Solterras, which have the different CATL battery pack, but will still be of great use to the NA crowd in the general sense of how Toyota is handling charging, pre-conditioning, etc.

It sounds like a great adventure.

I’ll be following along on IG.
There‘s little current (accurate) information, other than stated capacity and maximum charge rate (150kW vs 100kW) about any differences in the basic charge curve strategy.

Congrats on getting your bZ4X @Randelson and welcome to the forum! Be sure to keep us posted here as well! Where are you travelling to?
Sweden, Denmark, France, Luxemburg, Germany, Poland, Liethuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland.
No proper plan. Just a casual road trip you could say ;)
I love the trips where I know what kind of things are out there to see and when I get to the edge of the parking lot at the hotel in the morning, I decide whether to turn left or right. Not arbitrary in that I have thought about which places to go, but the actual decision (since there are always more things to see and places to go than I will ever have the time and resources for) is made as I go.

Very interested to see how you got on. Please do share how the car performed as and when you can. Hope all is going well!
After news of limited dc charging we sold bz4x.
Road trip is too slow if we can dc charge only twice in 24h

Sorry to hear. Unfortunately, this info is also not true. The 2 fast charges per day only applies to the US AWD version with the CATL battery. Its not limited in any form for the Panasonic battery which is in the US FWD and all other internationally sold cars. What is true and not unlike other cars, that above 80% SOC charging speed is throttled

Toyota does not recommend more than 2 fast charges per day, but its not limited. See below and further answer from Toyota UK

We got official info from dealer. And after we tested dc charge dropped to 25kw...
Other day we had -25c and first charge was 20-30kw.
-27c range was only 120km.
We just dont have time for that.
So bz4x is sold and model 3 lr refresh is at parking lot. (Charged 235kw in -24 and range 350km) so we are ready for the trip.
Bz4x was not for us.
@Randelson what other EVs have you looked at? With other Toyota EVs in the pipeline, are you going to consider them or already have other models you're interested in?
Again, this comparison of computed "range", which is a guestimate.

I do not believe that a M3LR at 100% SOC in -27C will actually travel 350km, at any speed, with or without cabin heating.
-27 bz4x range was ~120km
I know m3lr cant do 350km but 250km easy.
Maybe some day toyota makes good ev.

Just came back from 7220km road trip with tesla. Avg was 202. Including temps +10 - -25c and 1200km autobahn...

Bz4x is good for city but for road trips its not good
Thank you for your information.
Its interesting to hear that other bz4x owners have exactly the same problems which I have. And I also think about selling my 6 week-old bz4x.
The facts: DC-loading with 18-34 kmh (never reach more than 70 kwh and that only for a few minutes). AC-loading with 3,6 kwh.
Temperature durind that loading: +9 to -5 Celsius.
Range: 80%-20% => 140 km (bz4x with FWD and the small tires)
It takes 9 hours for 450 km!!! Half loading; half driving with 120km/h highway
Since 2 weeks no answer from Toyota Germany.

Thank you for sharing this info. Good to know vehicle performance at 0 to -25.

I was able to get 100% to 33% , no cabin heat, outside temp = 5 to 10C, 100kmh-120kmh 90% of drive speed.. 177km

I have AWD XLE - Canada.
