It's a pleasure to meet you, but I'll get to the main thing first.

Everyone knows that the DC fast charging speed of the BZ4X (2022/2023) has always been a headache, especially for models equipped with the CATL version (United States is a four-wheel drive model, and China is all models).

This is even more of a frightening problem in the low temperature of the winter environment, especially when you know that the battery pack temperature has been heated to 25 degrees Celsius (as a considered optimal operating temperature for a battery) and the BMS power demand is still kept at a particularly low level, and you will go crazy, especially if you are traveling long distances.

According to the information I know so far, the relevant hardware of the 2022/2023 version and the 2024 version of the model is the same, and the 2024 version adds a heat exchange line between the power motor coolant and the power battery coolant. In fact, the difference about DC fast charging actually comes from the vehicle control software system.

I currently know from an EV business manager at GAC Toyota in China that the BMS software for the 2022/2023 model year is being optimized, but he has not informed me about a specific date for providing OTA updates.

I don't know if you users in the United States or Canada can learn more specific information from your local dealership or Toyota representative. The business manager didn't answer my other questions.

I don't know if you North American users don't particularly mind these problems, but we Chinese users are very concerned. Because many of us are forced by the policy to buy electric vehicles, if the charging speed is slow, many people are unacceptable, because many of us do not own a regular gasoline car at the same time.
Hi. Welcome. Here in the United States, the slow charging is indeed a problem. The reviews of the bz4x were very negative, focusing on the short range and even more so on the slow charging. Because of this, the car did not sell well at all here. Here in the US, those people who need to drive long distances regularly have many other EV choices, and of course have gas choices as well. Most of the people who have purchased the bz4x here don't need to use it on long trips, so the car works very well for those people because it's a very nice care outside of the EV part.

There has been no information shared on this forum that there is any indication from Toyota that they plan on changing anything with the bz4X.
