Interesting, I never heard of this vehicle until I started browsing this forum!

Obviously Toyota and Subaru have had a successful past when it comes to joint ventures, I see no reason why their success with the BZ4X / Solterra would be any different. If it's like the 86 / BRZ, in which the vehicles are essentially 99% identical, I would opt for the Toyota purely because of my brand loyalty, unless it was significantly cheaper to go the Solterra route.

Apart from cost, I would need to see some very drastic differences in order to make me consider the Solterra, but I don't foresee that happening. Sex appeal shouldn't really apply, but I think we all like a car that looks good. That being said, I do love how the BZ4X looks

I'm waiting to see how many they will be making, and if it's possible to get one at all for a year or two after rollout. There is another thread here where a Toyota rep is quoted as saying that the BZ will be limited production, at least for a certain period.
My theory is that Toyota is anticipating a battery shortage, and initial production numbers will be low.

With their reveal of the bZ4X has Toyota sold you on buying it over the Solterra? Or are you waiting to see what Subaru does with the reveal of the bZ4X's sister SUV?

I'm waiting to see what Subaru has planned. If the Solterra is similar to the bZ I'll stick with Toyota but if it's something much different I might have a tough decision to make.

Availability, pricing and feature differences are important criteria TBD. With that said, I’d lean to the Subaru because the community I live in is called Solterra, near Red Rocks, Colorado.
