An excited Bz4X owner and YouTuber sells his car after only 3 months

I usually prefer to keep my cars for 10-12 years, and drive the heck out of them. However, given my experience owning a Bz4X AWD since last November, I totally understand why this guy bought his Bz4X, and why he sold it already. I feel for him, and anyone else who finds out the hard way that this isn't the right car for them.

Charging aside, judging from the much lower number of views for his bZ4X videos vs. his RAV4 Prime, he's probably better off with an EV that has a larger following. Hopefully there's more interest in the Ioniq 5 he's getting.

Wow. I only wish he'd mentioned how much of a loss he took on the sale.

In Canada, there is no loss when you sell an EV. Offer is way lower than demand.

Actually made a big profit on it when trading it to buy my IONIQ 5.

Day & night between the bz4x and IONIQ 5. Even without turning on battery preconditioning, I've been hitting the maximum on DCFC with the IONIQ 5.
the guy should ve just bought a ford raptor

Whatever gets him views. There seems to be an over-abundance of Raptor-owner channels, though.

The "follow-along-on-my-adventures-owning-[x]" genre is bit overdone.
yeap, and if he cant make this range he cant make with most ev s either, 50 miles more or less doesnt make much diference...i almost gave up on mine too but found a way to manage range anxiety and wouldnt trade for any hyundai or kias

That’s good to know. The ioniq5 was my second choice. I love the quick charging and range on the Ioniq5, but like the exterior styling of the bz4x.

The Bz4X is a great car... For some people. For 95% of my needs, commuting, running errands, etc, it is great. It's comfortable and easy to drive and very practical. The problem for me is the rare occasion where I may need to drive a longer distance and not have access go our usual long road trip car (which is my husband's primary car). If my elderly parents get really sick, and I need to drop everything and run, I don't know if my car will get to them, over 800 miles away, in 2 days. I live in a relatively rural area, so last minute flights and car rentals aren't as reliable. In my 12 year old Prius, I could do it in one day, and I accepted that with slower charging rates, that distance wasn't going to be doable in 1 day, but before I found out about the 2 cycles of fast charging per day limit, I thought 2 days would be no problem. Even a Bolt with it's 50 kW max charging speed would be able to do that drive, but the Bz4X really is a bad car for anyone who thinks they may want or need to do a long road trip. Toyota says this limit is not a problem, and isn't even hinting the supposed May software update that might fix the issue. So I get anyone who is looking at their Bz4X, trying to make it work for them, and giving up, because they don't see a way to make it work.
