It's being reported that first deliveries of the 2023 Toyota bZ4X are estimated to start around June 2022 in the U.S.
What dates have you guys heard?
What dates have you guys heard?
I have a hard time believing anything a Sales guy says! I have pushed mine to the limit, so much so, he has gone up to the owner and had the owner reach out to their contacts.... That really went nowhere!dealer here says their first one is expected in Aug. Don't know if that's with resolved issue or just to have it sit in the showroom as a demo that does not move

I had one reserved about 3 months ago and cancelled for the BZ4X. Now wondering if it was a mistake. I'm not sure that Toyota can get my car fixed and out of port in time for full tax credit at this rate.I should really get off my butt and reserve an ID.4 at this rate..
It's not shut down the week of Aug 15-19.Line shut down the entire month of August.
Edit: Unless I missed it, there was no wording about the recall in that production change, only Covid part shortages (which I kind of doubt that's all it is).

Motch6,I also do NOT see anything about the recall ... only shortages and COVID.... NOTICE though, it will be in production Monday 15th through Friday the 19th !!! weird?
So, yes, if you didn't already have one in production, than this production shut down super sucks!... Although, for all that have had something on the way, we hope to hear soon they've fixed the problem!
Ah ha hah.... i hadn't refreshed my page! didn't see that postMotch6,
Won't be in production 15th-19th. See post above yours!![]()
If this is true. hopes will be dimming that Toyota can even get the BZ's in port repaired and to the customer before the October 1st tax credit reduction date.Meanwhile, Toyota's first electric vehicle (EV), the 'bZ4X', which entered a recall (recovery and free repair) two months after its release due to possible vehicle defects, also stopped production in August. It is understood that there is a high possibility of a collision accident due to a wheel bolt problem.
Toyota has decided to suspend operation until next month as the investigation into the cause is not expected to be completed by the end of this month. As a result, the production and release of the bZ4X was delayed
Also those who were able to take delivery and keep the vehicle at home during this are the best off. They can keep it clean and charged up instead of letting it lot in some dealer or port lot. From translated Korean article. If this is true, Toyota still doesn't know the reason why the bolts failed and are still investigating (into August it seems). Would have been quicker to revert to hub/studs/lug nuts lol.

sigh...so close yet so far.....(and the ones that were in port when the QC hold / recall occurred - are hit the hardest. If they had taken ownership, no worries about the tax credit. Now, after sitting in the port for potentially 3+ months, they will miss out on at least half the credit if Toyota doesn't pick up the pace.
Toyota have rules about how and when to charge cars predelivery. It’s only to charge them to the bare minimum, but better than nothing at all. Also those who were able to take delivery and keep the vehicle at home during this are the best off. They can keep it clean and charged up instead of letting it lot in some dealer or port lot.
How do you know where your car is currently located? The ship carrying my BZ just arrived at the Port of New York. Of course, it will go into quality hold pending wheel lug bolt issue but it has arrived. From the production date, I would guess it will be one of the last ones produced before the June 17th shutdown (built on June 14th).

dealer sent a screenshot showing build date, departure date and expected arrival date. Using the ship tracking thread on the Rav4world forums (prime sub forum), I figured out which ship it was on and used shipinfo.net to track it.How do you know where your car is currently located?

A little update
![]()
Toyota corporate contacted me as I had been asking my dealership and social media outposts for updates, lady on the phone said that Toyota has taken all requests into account, meaning lender payments, insurance offsets for non-operation as opposed as full premiums, and compensations due to not having the car for so long, she said corporate is looking for the best way to make it right for us. She also explained that although there is no remedy news, Toyota is getting ready to contact owners at the beginning of next week, or the end of next week with an actual update.
My dealership also contacted me to bring in the RAV4 they loaned me, apparently loaners can only be out for a month at a time, so today they gave me a 4Runner for the next 30 days 🤷♂️Also made sure to ask if they have been getting my gas reimbursement receipts as I never get a confirmation, and she said yes. 😅
But it does sound like the update will be about what they’ll do for US owners and not about the remedy.Supposedly straight from the horses mouth.
