According to reports coming from Australia, the Toyota BZ will make its debut on Monday April 19.

Toyota is finally getting serious about all-electric vehicles, with its Beyond Zero (BZ) model line-up to start launching next week with the reveal of a mid-size SUV.
Set to be unveiled at 11.20am on Monday, April 19, the first member of the BZ family will use Toyota’s new e-TNGA electric vehicle (EV) platform, which will be shared with Subaru for its own upcoming all-electric mid-size SUV, reportedly called Evoltis.

Much like the rivalling Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, a number is expected to be used to distinguish the mid-size SUV from the rest of the BZ model line-up, with BZ1, BZ2, BZ2X, BZ3, BZ4, BZ4X and BZ5 recently trademarked in the US.

The ‘X’ in BZ2X and BZ4X is likely to denote a dual-motor powertrain, which the mid-size SUV is expected to be optionally available with, so it’s likely it will be dubbed either BZ2/BZ2X or BZ4/BZ4X.

Either way, the new Ford Mustang Mach-E, Volkswagen ID.4 and Tesla Model Y rival will be produced at Toyota’s emerging ZEV (Zero Emissions Vehicles) factory, with it feature a “new battery technology”, but what exactly is in store remains to be seen.
